So, lost my job and realised my career as a bike messenger has ended. Time to start looking for a job as a cleaner and start being a responsible father to my kids. Such a shame I wasted over $8000 and two years chasing stupid dreams while they hardly got to see me. Thankfully now I have woken up to myself and realised what I need to do. Got asked by photographer Craig Beaumont if I would like to display some work at the shoot the messenger exhibition as part of the Adelaide fringe festival. I had no idea how much it would cost so I accepted, lol. Kinda glad I did tho as when its all over I will have a couple of nice photos to put up around the house. Well, thats if I cant get a refund from IKEA for the frames, haha. Hope I can as I spent a couple of weeks worth of bill money on them :/

So, after an 8 year hiatus I have re-started my career as a bike courier in Adelaide, SA. I was needing a job and was finding it difficult to find anything with such a long period of unemployment (even getting turned down from cleaning jobs) so I thought I'd go back to the one job I was actually not too bad at... being a bicycle messenger. I've been experimenting a bit with light painting lately, another advantage of dropping drift photography. It's been fun getting back out and seeing what I can do with a few lights and a slow shutter speed. Not everything works out that great, but every now and then something cool happens. I'll have to split the random folder soon and add a few sub categories as I'm also getting more interested in tilt-shift photography. It's weird, but selling my DSLR gear and buying a point and shoot camera has made me more creative than I have been in a long time. It's also cool knowing that I'm not spending money to make nothing, making nothing is now once again costing me nothing. About fucking time I say! Stay tuned for more stuff soon.

Now that I'm not wasting my time heading out to drift events I have had more time to spend on something else I love... taking photos of graffiti. I couldn't stand not having any camera gear so I picked up a cheap point & shoot camera (Panasonic Lumix FH1) which is small and light and easy to carry around. Now I can ride my bike and not have kilos of gear on my back. This allows me to check out a heap of cool spots. I updated the gallery with all the photos ive taken in the past few months and I will be adding more as I find them. Due to a few debts that needed to be paid I decided to sell off all my camera gear. I was hoping to keep going, but it costs the family too much and with all the media work that I was doing that wasnt being paid for it seems pointless to continue. I'll leave it to the media pro's. I'm going to be doing work for the dole where I will earn $390/fortnight by painting, weeding and picking up dog shit. Seems the perfect job for me, the newspapers showed me that my work is worth nothing. Anyway, sorry to all the drivers I tried ripping off with overpriced photos.

Took the kids to the royal show again this year. This time Hannah was old enough to come along. The big triple slide was a hit with dad getting double the value for his money as they only charged one ticket per slide cause the kids were happy to go with me, win! Heres a few photos from the firewoks show. I get bored looking at regular shots of fireworks as they arent artistic or creative, so instead of chucking the camera on a tripod I hand held it and played with the light from the fireworks to create something I think is a little unique. Hope you like them!

We got a new bus to get around in the other day. There is now so much room for the kids that they actually want to go out places now. So many cool things to check out in it too. Will get onto making a page for it (with specs etc) one day soon. Now to find a job so I can start paying for it, lol.
